About My Method

Each quilted portrait begins with a good quality photo of your pet.  After carefully observing the light and dark areas of the photo, I make a pattern from your photo. I select a variety of 100% cotton fabrics and then construct the portrait using a fabric collage technique. The background is carefully chosen to enhance the portrait. After layering with batting and backing, the entire portrait is machine quilted with variegated threads. Edges are finished with a facing for a professional look. A portrait can be finished with a sleeve on the back for hanging or stretched on a canvas.

Price

Portraits are $750.00 CAD for a finished, unframed portrait mounted on a stretched canvas.  Other sizes and prices can be negotiated. You are welcome to pay through your Paypal account or with a major credit card. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before I begin working on your portrait. The remainder is due on completion, prior to mailing. Shipping fees are the responsibility of the purchaser.

How it works

You send me a good quality, high resolution electronic photo of your pet (.jpg file). Please keep in mind that good resolution is required for the photo to be clear and crisp when enlarged to the final portrait size. After we establish the level of detail and portrait size, I will make a quilted portrait of your pet based on your photo. You can choose the colour for your pet’s portrait (realistic or any other colours). I’ll send photos to show you how the work is progressing as it is under construction, if requested. The entire process can take up to 9 weeks to complete.

When the portrait is complete and ready for shipping, I will give you a quote for the shipping costs and the rest of the payment plus shipping will be due. I’ll ship the completed portrait to you as soon as I receive your full payment.
